I have Hashimtos and currently take 1.5 grains of Armour Thyroid. Has anyone else been woken up with the feeling of anxiety/palpitations - it lasts a few hours and it's hard to get back to sleep? I was wondering if I might be over/under medicated? I'm due another blood test in a couple of weeks.

Make sure to include vitamins tested
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
If/when also on NDT make sure to take last half of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time of 2nd dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

For thyroid including antibodies and vitamins
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
If you can get GP to test vitamins and antibodies then cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3 £29 (via NHS private service )
I’ve had this, but it has subsided now thyroid medication & key vitamins more optimal. I would also recommend taking magnesium to aid a restful sleep.
Thanks for your reply. I am already taking magnesium and it seems to help but not all the time. What was y our experience with vitamins that weren't optimum - if you don't mind me asking. Thanks.
When my folate & Levo dosage was low I had a racing heart, weird taste in my mouth & felt anxious all the time, like something terrible was about to happen. Improved D3/ K2 & B vitamins have helped reduce this. My latest goal is to get my ferritin higher in the range to see if my symptoms & energy levels further improve- humanbean has great advice on iron levels if you read her posts.
Low iron and ferritin cause me heart problems and anxiety. I lose iron very quickly if I stop taking it, so having got it to a level that I'm happy with I have to also keep supplementing at a lower dosage just to maintain it where it is.
Are you taking any other medications? When I was on AT it reacted badly with Cymbalta even though I took them many hours apart (I took it for chronic pain for PSA)
