Long story short. Have Hashi's since early 2000s (hereditary). Was on 150mcg Levo only for many years, never felt "back to normal". Asked GP multiple times for a trial on NDT, refused by the PCT/CCG. Decided to self medicate. Started taking Thiroyd by Greater Pharma 3 years ago, felt much better, remaining symptoms greatly reduced.
However, given the lack of NDT purchasing options now due to the removal of a number of products, including Thiroyd, I am considering a move back to my prescribed Levo but topping up with a small amount of T3 each day.
Have anyone else gone down this route?
I was taking 3 grains of Thiroyd per day, which according to online sources suggests a total of 25mcg. Liothyronine seems to be available mainly in 25mcg tablets, so I assume that it would be best to split the tablet and take 2 or 3 times per day to even out the T3 absorption.
Is Tiromel (Turkish brand of Liothyronine) any good? It seems to be a lot cheaper than other brands.
PMs with trusted/reliable online options would be appreciated. I'm in the UK.
Many thanks
Paul
