Anyone else got hashimoto's but don't need thyroid medicine with it?

Hashimotos
Do you feel 100% well?
Or is this the G.P. saying you don’t need treatment, but you feel unwell? (Very common)
I feel fine I dont have symptoms of hashimotos like fatigue, depressed, over weight etc I get anxiety when I'm ovulating for a couple of days but I'm aware of that and that's when my brain tells me what if your hashimotos has turned to thyroid cancer? My case was put to the top surgeons and endocrinologists because it was a weird case but they realised I just had slightly bigger lymph nodes below my neck but it scared my head that they were looking for thyroid cancer. After 6 years it was still clear with no changes, stayed the same, goiter but no nodules. I just worry that nodules have grown although I cant feel signs of that. Or should I just stay under my GP and stop worrying?
Worry and anxiety are common hypothyroid symptoms
Suggest you get hold of your actual results
Come back with new post once you get hold of them
Ok I will this week
This is the procedure for blood tests for the thyroid hormones.
The earliest blood draw, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24hours between last dose of levo and test and take it afterwards. This helps keep the TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone from the pituitary gland) at its highest as this seems to be the only result doctors look at. It drops throughout the day.
Ive just been told this by my gp also. My tsh t3 and t4 are fine according to him but i have raised antibodies of 430. He told me the actual number does not need or get treatment. Did you get any further forward with yours
I had a fasting one do e but all ok apparently so just leaving it. I have a goiter but no nodules, are you the same? Xx
I dont have a goiter and generally feel ok. I do have a lump in throat sensation and some hair loss but again im not unwell. I went for the camera up my nose and into my throat and all was fine they said x
That's good. I had scans for over 6 years cause my lymph nodes were swollen but turns out thats just the size they are. Very worrying time but it's been ok for last 10 years now so fingers crossed. I'm a teacher at a school and I'm a keyworker so wondered if this disease made me high risk of the coronavirus. X
So are you still not taking medication? Was your antibodies high? Im key worker too, i work in a nursing home, so again unsure. I also have a son who is high risk. Its all very worrying and so much different info x
No I've never needed medication. Havent asked for the antibodies. I need to ask for the report really but feel like it's the least of their worries. Yeh Its hard with the coronavirus. Our teachers are off isolating if their children at home are high risk so you should be off work for that reason only. I on other hand dobt have high risk children at home but someone said thyroid is high risk cause hashimotos is auto immune disease. Our immune system attacks our thyroid 🤷🏼♀️ who knows. Just gonna see it out. Fingers crossed we are at the worst and it get better. Stay safe and take care of yourself xx
So how did they diagnose you with hashi's? I was under the impression it was the antibodies that determined it. Yeah i know what you mean, i know there is more tests i need but the gps have so much else to deal with right now. X
So 8 years ago I took my baby to walk in a&e as she has bronchitis. The nurse their said hope you font mind me telling you this hyt your thyroid gland in your neck is swollen and you need to see your gp about it then sorted my daughter out. I had no idea what a thyroid was lol being 25 with 2 babied and uneducated on parts of the body Idid as she said and he said yes its def swollen. Sent me for ultrasound and the radiologist scared crap out of me and said your thyroid is swollen and so is your lymph nodes you need to see a specialist. I freaked out cause at the time I had post natal depression. Saw specialist said good news is theres no nodules or goiter (I think) just swollen but needed a scan because of these swollen lymph nodes. Scanned me and they said lymph nodes are tiny bit bigger than normal so it's either nothing or thyroid cancer coming. She confirmed from the bloods at this point it was hashimoto. Well I was an absolute mess. My case was very rare so was put forward to all the specialist after being scanned for 3 months and there was no change. I was scanned for a year and no change at all then another scan 2 years later and still no change so they discharged me and said I just have large lymph nodes at the front of my neck. This was 6 years ago now. Over all it was 8 years ago. I've had regular bloods 3-6 months and drs say no need for medication. Xx
Well done to the nurse for pointing you in the right direction. They do say childbirth can bring on thyroid problems. Thats when mine started. I had 2 c section births and after my second my tsh shot up to 22.08 but i never took the medication at that time and gradually it came back down itself and has always been below 2. X
Nurse was amazing. I had preeclampsia and was induced at 37 weeks. When she was born my blood pressure was so high I had to have medication to prevent a stroke and bed rest. It was awful. I think childbirth traumas def trigger it xx
I'm the same. I had high antibodies but TSH, T4 and T3 were all fine.
I would want to know my actual TSH, T4 and T3 numbers if I were you though. Doctor's definition of fine is not actually fine.
Are you on medication? I got a copy of all my numbers and although t3/4 are at lower end of range they are still in range hence why they wont give me medication
What is your TSH?
I'm not on medication no.
My tsh is 1.18 (0.05-5)
T4 is 13.5(9-22)
T3 3.8 (3-6)
Antibodies 430 (0-6)
But im lower end of b12 and low ferritin and folate too
