1.How many of you are using a dosage of t3 lower than 70 mcg ( like 50-60)and are full replaced?
2. Someone that was using t3 only but introduced some t4 also?
Thank you.

I've been on T3 only for some years, now. 75 mcg a day. I've tried on two occasions to add a little T4 in, but both times the experiment failed. I just don't feel right taking even a tiny amount of T4.
The point is i am hypothiroid on 75,also at 100mcg,maybe less but my cortisol went high, a1c%, insuline. Hair loss.. So i started to lower t3, now 75mcg.
When you say you're hypo, do you mean according to symptoms or according to blood test results? Hair-loss can be caused by so very many things, not just low thyroid.
Hi, I've been on T3 only for 9 years after thyroidectomy. 35mcg is fine for me. In the early days, I tried to add in T4 on different occasions, but it was like a toxin to my body. Just not good, despite what medical people say!
I only use 10mcgs and my GP is now refusing to prescribe it because of cost and has put it in the hands of my Endo.
I would love to know who is funding everyone's much larger dosages?
GPs don't feel able to prescribe it because of guidelines. My Endo has OK 'd T3 only, but I still have problems with my GP practice suddenly withdrawing it. If they suddenly withdrew insulin for diabetics there would be an outcry. Always be prepared to buy from abroad and have an emergency supply in the freezer!
I am on T3 only 60mcg (30mcg 6.45am, 20mcg 12.00 & 10mcg 5pm). I would say am fully replaced. If I increase I would become jittery. I can occasionally drop the dose but need to raise it as soon as I get a cold or bug. I use Thybon 20 Henning which I found about 20% more active than Mercury Pharma product that I used to be on.
I don’t use T4 at all and it is very low on blood tests because of T3. For context I’m male aged 65 and 6 years on T3.
I am on 60mcg T3 only (20mcg 11pm, 20mcg 8am, 20mcg 2pm). Tried to reduce the dose but fatigue returned. Would not go back on T4 as was very unwell for years on it. Keeping fingers crossed that it won’t be taken off me!
Officially 60mcg is the highest T3 dose that would be prescribed, and is supposed to be complete replacement. Of course some people do need more than that.
Hey Dawid, I'm only increasing t3 now and decreasing levo.my consultant said he has someone on 120 mcg of t3, everyone is so different. He said majority of his patients are between 30-40 t3 plus 50-75 t4.
T4 is not an active hormone and needs to be converted to T3 to become active. This conversion is regulated by the body and when taking a fairly large amount of T3 the control mechanism stops the conversion of the T4. Therefore taking the T4 tends to be of no benefit.
