Suffering with hypothyroidism and hashimotos. 49 yr old female who has put a lot of weight on an constantly fatigued suffering with headaches unable to concentrate. Saw

A Nutritionalist several yrs ago and she charged bombloads and put me on a metabolic diet. I had no probs following this and immediately started losing weight. I stuck to it and was only 5 lb from my target weight when personal pressures just caused me to become lenient and I started eating some junk food again and 2 years on I have put on twice as much as I lost on the M B diet. I’ve been trying to go gluten free but finding it hard and at a loss because I am desperate and don’t know who to turn to. I will post the last blood results . PleSe could someone help or advise. Is there anyone FD that’s good and reasonably priced I could see in England around Birmingham area. There’s a lot of material for reading but how an earth to try and take all of this in when one has headaches and unable to concentrate? Please help. Anyone who has been able to heal them selves anxx dc lose the weight.

Are you prescribed levothyroxine? If so, what dose?

Are these recent results?

They show you are hypothyroid and need starting on levothyroxine at 50mcg

.....or if on levothyroxine already need 25mcg dose increase in levothyroxine

See GP

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 too

Yes, I'm taking B12 also

You’re under medicated. I’m told things get better when you get your tsh to 1 or under. I’ve just started gluten free - lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks. Yes it’s awful! Mainly cos I’m keeping all carbs to a minimum (no potatoes sugar rice but some wine for sanity)! If I get desperate I’ll make myself a GF cake!

Gluten free cake? Good luck

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toSugras

There’s loads of excellent recipes for GFree cakes

Many hashimoto’s patients need to be absolutely strictly gluten free

Can you clarify what you are currently taking.

Levothyroxine?

Or NDT?

And what dose

hello there

i live in Birmingham as well and when i looked at your results i thought how wonderful they tested you so thoroughly. i have to fight to get any results and they are not the full tests on my last one it said extremely high antibodies

patient does not need to be informed.

i have had horrible experiences with the NHS and the consultants are just as bad. they told me to go the gym when i was really upset at my weight gain

and very little food intake.

i find i am ignorant to a lot of the problems caused by my condition which i have had over 28 years. i started over active with graves and for the past 8 years it has been under now with hashimotos

i feel so fed up a lot of the time and really tired and my feet ache al the time

and burn. i am not living my life or being the person i should be.

Seaside Susie gave me some very helpful advice and advised me to go Gluten which did help a great deal

but i fell off the Gluten free wagon. there is a great deal of info on here

which stresses me out sometimes as there seems no way out of this misery

i have made an appointment to see a homeopath in Birmingham digbeth this week

i can let you know how it went

have a good day.

Yes please let me know how you get on. These results

I’ve had done private and paid for by medichecks. The nhs wouldn’t do them. They just send you away with levo tablets if they have to! Yes there is a lot out there but too much to read. I can’t seem to go gluten especially as I have to cook and buy food for every one else.

Thanks

Hope you find some joy in seeing this homeopath.

Are you the same person that started this thread with the username Sugras ?

No, I'm not I've only had to change my user name once. I hope this helps, somehow?

OK, so this is confusing.

Sugras started this thread, posted their results and I asked the question if they were on Levo.

Sugras, how come you didn't come back and answer the question? You would have had notification of a reply.

*

Beachytoes2u You answered my question which was in reply to Sugras' opening post. If this isn't your thread I'm puzzled as to why you answered my question. Did you get an email notification that alerted you to a reply to this thread?

*

If there are two different members replying on this thread nobody is getting an answer that is relevant to their circumstances and the whole thing is confusing.

What I would suggest is:

1) Sugras - start a new thread, post your results again, and we'll try and keep all replies relevant to you.

2) Beachytoes2u - you are obviously answering these questions for a reason. If you have questions can you please also start your own thread and then we can answer your queries.

Once that has been done this thread can be closed to further replies so that there is no further confusion.

Hi, it's beachytoes2u, I've reread this thread, it's very confusing, appears "sugras" is also me??? I understand now the question, if I changed names. I have Not, Slow Dragon asked questions, to be clear, I've no idea who sugars is, or why I'm on her thread...very weird I wasn't near the computer🤔or👽

Sugras in reply toBeachytoes2u

I’m sorry I don’t know what’s going on. I’m new to using this but I’m Sugra’s. I started another thread to upload my results

And try and get some help. This is all rather a lot!
