Hi all, two weeks ago I switched from thyroxine (125 daily) to armour thyroid (90 daily).
On Wednesday I because unwell with cold and flu like symptoms. On Friday I Began taking Sudafed to clear sinuses as I had a lot of face pain.
Yesterday I developed back pain from the mid to lower back which does not respond to over the counter pain relief. I went to the walk in and they suspected UTI but urine test was clear. They also said it could be new medication but that then do not know anything about it to comment.
Has anyone else suffered back pain on armour? At times it’s not so bad and other times it’s near unbearable.

At the back of my mind I seem to remember being told never to take Sudafed. I often still used to take it on the first day to get things moving but after finished the bottle I didn’t get anymore. So may be something in it that we shouldn’t touch. Just can’t remember now.
Thanks for your reply, I did read an article about hyperthyroid and Sudafed. I’m hypo and didn’t see anything on that front 🤷♀️ it’s just another ailment to add to the list I suppose!
I have been having an odd combo of indigestion and back pain/muscle pain or tightness within an hour of taking my Armour for the last few weeks. Honestly I’m ready to try something else as the instability of Armour is driving me crazy!
The pain is coming in waves for me. I’m just coming out of an unbearable pain, can’t help but scream out with it. It’s settling somewhat now but I know it will be back. But there’s no pattern. Just every few hours 🤷♀️
Hi Elmo218 Are you taking any other medication? I don't take Armour. i take 30mcg of t3 daily. Some time ago it was reduced because of osteoporosis but had to increase it back.
Your back pain exactly where is the pain?
I also had bad experience with Sudafed. Hope you feel better soon.
