Test results:
TSH 0.05 (0.55 - 4.78), T3 5.5 (3.5 - 6.5), T4 22.2 (9 - 22.7), T4 22.2 (9 - 22.7)
Taken 8.30am, no food no meds. Current dose 150mcg per day.
Text message from GP - Your recent test result suggests you are overrated with thyroxine. Please book a telephone call to discuss your current dose and the reduction that would be advised.
So, I know I am not overmedicated, you know I am not overmedicated, as T3 is not over range. They cannot see past TSH. I am not good at verbal combat, so what I need is advice what to say to back up my case.
TSH has been 0.05 since 2013.
I’m sure I have read something about reducing the dose not giving an increase in TSH after it has been suppressed for so long, is that correct?
Any other suggestions gratefully accepted.
I should also add that last year someone at the surgery - no one would tell me who - reduced my dose to 125mcg without telling me. It resulted in an argument at reception and someone - again unknown- changed the dose back again. I had some sympathy for the receptionist who was put in that situation. It will probably happen again.
Thanks.
