If your endo is writing prescriptions you can get L-T3 at reasonable prices from these German phamacies thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm... . If you use these it is better to get a prescription for multiples of 50 to match the pack size.
If you do not have a prescription we can't put details on this forum although other patients can send you a private message.
Was this private consultation or NHS?
If NHS, endo should prescribe on NHS
Have you been given private prescription?
What dose T3?
20mcg T3 from Germany is cheap at 31 Euro for 100 tablets
Prescription should read
20mcg Liothyronine x 100 tablets
My endo charges me £220 per visit and the cheapest supplier for a months supply of medication is £90 per pack. I saw my endo via the NHS during my pregnancy and that was the only time i was given a free T3 blood test on the NHS. The NHS have completely withdraw this medication but the Endo will advise the cheapest pharms to go to with a prescription. I have to pay for my own Free T3 blood test every 6 months too as GP have withdrawal this test as well. So all in all i n i just can't afford it. I have something called thyroid resistance where i produce very large amount of RT3. Taking T3 has helped me greatly and i need that help. I have never heard of a german pharm in the UK so i will exhaust that option thank you.
I find this so unfair ... why are you having to pay for all this when it should available on the the NHS! If you don't mind I will mention this to my local MP when I email her about my case being put to Matt Hancocks because I was treated very badly by the NHS regarding treatment and diagnosis. I am still getting no help 12 years later and have to buy my own medication and pay for my own blood tests. Luckily I can afford it but people like you are struggling and you should be getting all this free on the NHS imho. We have paid into the NHS all our lives and we are entitled to free treatment just the same as diabetes sufferers etc. On a side note I have a chest infection and I went to get my prescription and didn't have to pay because I am 60 !! when I talked about my symptoms to 111 their clinician had no idea about Graves' so I told him to google it .... pathetic! What are they teaching them at medical school eh!?
So if you get a prescription from Endocrinologist you can buy online from Germany (though this option may cease after Brexit)
Prescription needs to read
Liothyronine 20mcg x. 100 tablets
31 Euro for 100 tablets
It is possible (but difficult) to get T3 prescribed on NHS......post code lottery depending on which CCG area you are in
Which CCG area are you?
openprescribing.net/analyse...
High reverse T3 can be linked to low iron/ferritin
Ask/insist GP tests these plus vitamin D, folate, and B12 at least annually
Cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3 £29 (via NHS private service )
