Please help I have an appointment with my endocrinologist on 21st july and I really wanted to get him to give me T3 so I can see if it works for me.. If you take it and have seen a difference can you please let me know so i can print some stuff out to help me when i see him.

Do you know what your FT3 is? If it is low you will almost certainly benefit from adding T3 to Levothyroxine but if FT3 is good it is unlikely you'll get much, if any, benefit. I didn't tolerate Levothyroxine on it's own but the adverse effects experienced calmed when I added T3 which also raised my FT3 from below range.
Mercury Pharma T3 is so very expensive that many health authorities have banned prescribing it and have been withdrawing T3 from people who have been taking it for years.
It's only expensive in the UK. But that has meant big problem for UK patients
European T3 much cheaper but currently unlicensed in Uk
Same huge increase in price of other medications, but as they are seen as irreplaceable they can't be withdrawn.
Hi Judymshaw....yes, I have come off levothyroxine, which was just making me fatter and fatter and tired and sick...now take a combination of ThyroGold and T3 ( bought from on-line sources as NHS will not provide unfortunately) which has started to help the weight come off... someone just posted a really helpful link .....restartmed.com/levothyroxin...which if you print it out may help explain a lot for your Endo.
