Does anyone have any idea what will happen regarding sourcing T3 Liothyronine outside of the UK privately once we leave the EU, which is now definite since the Conservatives have a large majority in the House of Commons.
Brexit and Liothyronine : Does anyone have any... - Thyroid UK
Brexit and Liothyronine
There's already a post on this subject with lots of speculation healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... .
Maybe those that order via private prescription should now question their Drs as to what is likely to happen to their supply now Brexit is a definite.
As you now get NHS prescription.......Have you tried Morningside Healthcare 5mcg T3 ?
That would solved possible supply issues
I do get NHS T3 also now.
I’m so so much better on ThyBon Henning privately though. I thought I’d just put the question out there as now Brexit will definitely happen.
But you might get on ok with Morningside Healthcare T3
I did request Morningside a couple of months ago but the hospital refused and said I had to have Mayne Pharma 5mcg.
Where is Morningside manufactured, do you know. Mayne Pharma is US owned but actually manufactured in Germany. Is Morningside sodium based. Or is it like ThyBon which is chlorine based (I think that’s right I know it’s not sodium).
I’ll definitely request Morningside side again on my next prescription to see how that is. Mayne makes me very dehydrated.
Morningside 5mcg and 10mcg tablets only launched about 10 days ago
Its UK based. They are one of the three companies licensed to provide NHS T3
Everyone who gets 5mcg prescribed on NHS now seems to automatically get Morningside
If you manage to find out the cost bring charged to NHS for Morningside 5mcg or 10mcg tablets let me know
Guessing/hoping it's considerably cheaper than the £380-£428 that supplier was charging to provide 90 tablets Sigma Pharma on NHS. (£120 for same number tablets as private prescription)
Thybon is liothyronine hydrochrlide whereas (so far as I know) all other products are liothyronine sodium. Whether that has any significance is difficult to assess.
(I did notice a couple of Russian papers whch referred to lyothyronine-2-hydrochloride - whether that means that it is made in that form in Russia, or that they simply buy Henning Thybon, I cannot tell.)
Put up a new post .....asking for information by private messages only
