I have under active thyroid, my last blood test showed my ferritin results are very high, is this something to worry about?

How high? What is the result and reference range?

Infection and inflammation can raise ferritin?

My first blood test shows 503 acceptable levels should be between 20-200

My second blood test 3 months later shows 538 so it seems to be going up, is this serious ?

I can't say if it's serious but it's certainly something you should be discussing with your doctor.

Presumably, looking at these ranges...you are female?

Are you post menopause?

Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto's diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies?

Hashimoto's and hemochromatosis may be linked

Hemochromatosis is more likely if you have Celtic ancestry
