Research sought the oestrogen-hypothyroid connection

Can anyone point me to any research (or even share what you know) regarding how high oestrogen levels can give misleadingly high thyroid levels results or in general effect thyroid function? By this I don't mean HRT and about taking it at the opposite time to levothyroxine, I mean general levels of oestrogen in your system, if that makes sense. I'm also not asking about Oestrogen dominance as I have already looked into this. (I do take HRT and I am wondering if I take too much oestrogen and this is what's making me ill for so long) Thanks in advance

I have not heard of estrogen causing high levels of thyroid hormone. What I do know is that high levels of estrogen cause thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG) to rise. TBG will bind some of the thyroid hormone, causing hypo symptoms in some which may need more thyroid hormone.

This article actually goes on to say that thyroid hormone levels are high in the presence of high TBG levels, but I assume that only applies to people whose thyroid is capable of responding to the increase in TSH...so basically, not hypothyroid people who instead would need a dose increase...? I hope someone else knows.

Thank you -this makes sense - I'm probably clutching at straws though to find new things to try to feel better i.e. reduce hrt!

The above article is informative about estrogen and thyroid. granted he sells supplements, but he cites scientific studies within the article.
