Sorry, I’m in need of a laugh. So I asked me endo if People with Hashi’s could experience hyper symptoms like sweating or hot flashes as a result of their condition and she said- “So the symptoms you are having are not typical- may not be related but there are also plenty of people whose symptoms are atypical.” Thanks, I guess. To me it makes sense since the thyroid is our temperature regulator but what do I know. I know another thing it could be is my anxiety but my TSH is over 6 right now so I want to think they are connected.
Next up was vitamin D- my most recent labs showed my vitamin D had increased with supplementation but still low at 34.6 with reference of 30-100. I asked if she thought I needed more supplementation and she said no, adding “Most of the studies show that D>30 is optimal but there really isn’t evidence for further benefits from higher levels.” Does anyone happen to have any medical literature I can give her that suggests optimal levels of Vitamin D being on the higher end of the range?
Thanks

Vitamin D deficiency is frequent in Hashimoto's thyroiditis and treatment of patients with this condition with Vitamin D may slow down the course of development of hypothyroidism and also decrease cardiovascular risks in these patients. Vitamin D measurement and replacement may be critical in these patients.
Evidence of a link between increased level of antithyroid antibodies in hypothyroid patients with HT and 25OHD3 deficiency may suggest that this group is particularly prone to the vitamin D deficiency and can benefit from its alignment.
why don't you download some literature from here: aboardtheworld.com, and point out to her the benefits of early retirement??? That may be more beneficial for the world at large than trying to educate her. (Sorry but you said you were up for a laugh). Perhaps you could help with our mystery too - my daughters GP prescribed her 25mg levothyroxine instead of her normal dose of (consultant prescribed) 2 grains of NDT. There really is no hope for these people!
I was very ill for months Dr. Checked all from head to toe with Scan's ex rays MRI ect. Blood test .I take 50 Levothroxine & supplement VD .so I read up on Thyroxin &VD spoke to people on here . HENCE i made sure I was taking my Thyroxin with at least two hours either side of no eating and only drinking water . Stopped taking VD . Within 3 days I had my life back my Dr. is surprised at the results ,but I am now about 2-3 months on and feeling great 🤔😊
Dr thought I had Thyroid problems but all my scans are clear and good . Hence why I looked at my medication , All symptoms like laryngitis but not could sleep for days, always tired generally felt & looked awefull .
