I'm not medically qualified and am very sorry you have the 'flu plus vertigo which is horrible too when you're balance is also affected.

I think you're voice will recover as you begin to get better although it might be quite painful and annoying you cannot speak properly but is probably caused due to your 'flu infection.

I think I'd make hot drinks with vitamin C (lemon or orange) to try to combat the infection as well as giving you fluids.

I'm not medically qualified and those members who may be will also respond.

Hi Shaws,

Hope you are well and thanks so much for replying . I am taking hot water lemon honey and cinnamon all the time .

I am a singer and teacher so it’s very worrying . I have had vertigo before just panic when I get it as had it many years ago,

for several months I was bed bound .

I hope you manage to avoid this flu though I defo would suggest the injection as I wish I had got it now ..😊

I have also had vertigo and it is truly awful especially when everything spins around so I can definitely agree with you. Sometimes taking an sea-sickness pill can help but take well away from levo.

I hope you feel better soon.

Yes, I agree and have only had two episodes - one a number of years ago and another about six months ago.

Hi Angie, many years ago I had flu followed by persistent laryngitis. It was very isolating & frustrating & it effected my job & relationships.

I had a camera down my throat to check my vocal chords but all was well. I ended up having speech therapy which helped but it did take time to get better.

I learned to speak from my chest rather than use my throat muscles to create volume. I also now drink water all the time, day & night. Get plenty of rest (because your body is exhausted from fighting the infection) and trust things will improve in time x

Hi Newday 64 ,

Thanks so much for replying to me . Gosh that must have been horrendous for you though glad you are feeling better . My doctor won’t do anything as she said it’s a virus coming from the flu . I have laryngitis now three weeks and vertigo . I teach singing so have been off six weeks next weekend . My doctor said to give me another two weeks .x

Hi Angie56 - I’m still recovering from flu and a chest infection so you have my sympathy. I’ve not had laryngitis this time but when I had it earlier in the year the local health food shop recommended gargling with steeped turmeric and cloves. It really seemed to help.

Also, for bad vertigo you could ask your GP for Prochlerperizine. Hope you feel better soon x

Hi LunaMaa ,

Thank you so much ,hope you feel better soon this flu is awful and seems to bring complications of other doses for us that have thyroid disease.

Hope you feel better soon too , guess it will just take it’s course x

Apologies I forgot to ask , how long did it take to get your voice back ? All we can do is rest until we feel well awful as it is!x

I think it was about 7 days before I could do anything more than squeak and about another week before I was back to full volume! The best thing is to not even try to speak. My family loved it!

I never thought it would be so painful and exhausting . I’m gargling with aspirin today and try not to speak though as you know it’s hard to stay quiet . My doctor told me it would be another two weeks . 😊

Its can be happen but it's of course to long

Depending on other factors contributing to your slow recovery

Immune system

Stress

Vitamin d deficiency

Silent phenomena

Epstein bar syndrome

Glandular fever

Post viral syndrome

Wishing you good luck

Hi Drose 9193 ,

Thank you for your kind reply . I guess I’m just run down and have to persevere until I’m well and rest . I do take vitamin D only started this last five weeks though wouldn’t be a strong dose . I neglected to take vitamin c . I triedEchinacea in the past I couldn’t take it .

Thank you 😊
