Cutting TR man into quarters? will it deteriorate?

Does anyone cut their TR man into quarters or halves? Im just wondering about deterioration of the pill. I noticed a few times that if I left the pills out on my stand to take in the morning the pink colour would be faded. So wondering what effect cutting would have?

Thanks!

I don't know what a TR man is but in general if a pill has a seal around it, usually a shiny surface, or/and they come with a desiccant package in its container then yes, cutting it will deteriorate the pill. btw, what's a TR man?

TR Man is the name of a brand of NDT from Thailand. Unfortunately it was taken off the market a few months ago. :(

I don't think that I would try and cut mine into halves, never mind quarters. It's a pity because sometimes we do need to tweak doses. All my prayers are asking for TR Man to come back onto the market and UNCHANGED, but I am not holding my breath.

Do you think it will? It was just discontinued without any explication from the mfg (that I know of). I just assumed it was not deemed profitable. Now, there are rumours it was discontinued as a result of swine fever in Asia. Which sounds kind of strange since Thyroid-s is still being mfg and I guess they all source their raw material from the same place...but let's keep our fingers crossed it will come back as we need alternatives to horribly expensive and reformulated brands of prescription NDT!

This is not good...I just checked my regular supplier's website and all three brands of Thai NDT are marked as "sold out". I knew TR had been discontinued and this seems to confirm that Thiroyd has been as well, but Thyroid-S...?!?!?

Worrying!!!

So, I contacted this supplier in Thailand who told me that

1) Thiroyd and TR TMan have been discontinued until further notice because of the outbreak of Asian swine fever so whatever stocks remain are dwindling as we speak; once they are gone they are gone;

2) Thyroid-S has been sold out for the past few weeks due to increased demand after the other two brands were discontinued, but is still being manufactured and they will most likely be able to restock it next week or the week after that.

At least Thyroid-S remains available and my supplier confirms all rumours about it being discontinued are false and have been denied by the manufacturer.

It is worrying given the track record of NDT supplies from around the world. There appears to be a conspiracy to either stop supplies, or change the product to make it less effective. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with the Thai suppliers.

I've been cutting mine for years. All sizes... Its just a sugar coated surface. Dont mind if it fades.

I don't think you should have any problems splitting your thyroid meds into halves or quarters . If after you split your dose and feel your under dosed just raise it a bit.
