I just received my TR Man Thyroid. The pills are super small, and I need to take one and a half, to be the equivalant of Nature Throid that I was taking. Anyone out there have a cutter they recommend, that won't shred that tiny pill? The one I have demolished it.

I have small pills to cut as well. I tried a number of pill cutters to no avail.

The most successful technique I have discovered is to use a craft knife or scapal and tweezers. Takes a little bit of practice but it cuts almost equal quarters for my T3.

Hello. I've just switched from 4.5 grains of naturethroid to TR Man. I'm seeing how I go with 5 grains of TR Man as 4 wasn't enough so you might not need to faff about with cutting up these tiny little pills. I've not done that yet.

I'm also considering buying some of the other Thai meds to see how they compare. I believe one of them is a bigger pill and therefore easier to split.

The STTM website says that TR Man has been discontinued so it might be worth exploring alternatives (though if you're on 1-2 grains a day, you'll already have a large supply).

Thanks, it is puzzling to me why STTM say it is discontinued, <seller details removed>, mine expires 2022 and was made in 2018.

There are some NDT suppliers that have said TR is being discontinued. I expect some sellers still have some stock, but will eventually run out.

I have just switched from Naturethroid 2 grains to 2 pink pills of TR Mann wondering if it is the equivalent of what I was taking before. How are you getting on with TR Mann and how long have you been on it @Jo_Joey?

Hello. It's only been three weeks or so on the TR Man. I feel better than when the naturethroid stopped working. Because I'm taking 0.5 grain more of the pink pills, I'm waiting to see if there are any signs of over-medication (unfortunately a lot of those signs are the same as under-medication) but my pulse is the same as ever and I've had no palpitations.

Did you switch due to the Naturethroid manufacture problems?

Jo_Joey Yes I gave up on Naturethroid because it wasn't working any more, trouble is I panicked and bought loads of it, because there always seemed a threat that it might be running out. I take 2 pink pills and wondering if they are equivalent to 2 grains of Naturethroid. Reading other blogs it seems that people are taking a bit more of TR Mann to reach the same measure of Naturethroid. How much of a pink pill is 0.5 grain, wondering how you arrive at that measure? do you have a thyroid as I don't?

Hi Margo, from what I researched 1 grain of Nature throid has 38mcg of T4, and 9 mcg of T3. The same 1 grain of TR Man has 35mcg of T4, and 8.31mcg of T3. Very close. Since I was taking 1 1/2 grain of Naturethroid, to match it, I would have to half one of those small pills. For now, I just started taking 2 of the TR Man. I'll see what happens.

Ok, thank you @bellananci that would probably make a difference in how much you take, as without a thyroid one would assume I might need more meds', although I know not always the case.

I'm taking more TR Man than Naturethroid and seeing how it goes. Not sure what else I can do! I've also got a load of useless and expensive Naturethroid in my fridge so I'm really hoping the Thai stuff works.

How much more are you taking @Jo_Joey? I am on week 3 and hoping things will get better, as I have also spent a fortune on TR Mann. (panic buying before it runs out).

Hi Bellananci I bought a super good pill cutter on Amazon (Fortuna pill series). It cuts my tiny pills in halves and sometimes into 1/4s.

i got one of these a few years ago, cost me about £20 but not seen them on any uk sites as have been looking for someone else

it needs to be on a flat surface to get a good cut but i love mine, easily cuts T3 in quarters too, you need to half them then with tweezers stand them up (i got fat fingers) and cut you then get pretty equal quarters but dont try a quarter TRman because they will just crumble
