Sick euthyroid/coming off meds/sleepless/stiff shoulders/locked jaw

Hello. 4 years ago I started on levothyroxine (75) and liothyronine (10). I was borderline hypo but 'idiopathic'; secondary, but not pituitary related. The consultant talked of likely sick euthyroid and to try meds 'for a while'. She now advised me to come off 'cold turkey' (not having seen me for a couple of years but based on a tel chat with her secretary when i inquired if a sudden but persistent onset of yellow loose stool could be a hyper sign). I've followed her advice, for better or worse, and in the last 10 days have not slept well and had very painful stiff shoulders and neck and 2 mornings when I was unable to open my jaw until midday. Plus headaches and feeling very tired and thirsty. Anyone got any experience of or advice for coming off meds please? Are these normal 'transition' symptoms? How could I best support myself naturally whilst hoping my TSH (which has been 0.01 suppressed for 4 years) will recover and my system rebalance?

Many thanks for any tips or pointers

What about the yellow stools now? Still having them?

no - that lasted about a month, after which i had normal daily bowel movements which i haven't had for 4 years. These lasted about a month and i then went back to constipated and pellets. I'd upped my dose form 75 to 100 some short time before the diarrhoea and was also on very high folate supplement. I think it might have been caused by one of these? Or an unrelated parasite of river swimming - don't know..Thanks

ps - also waking with water retention in face, puffy eyes. Not drastic but noticable..related?

Sounds a bit weird. Secondary is pituitary related. Idiopathic just means "we haven't a clue" in Greek. Tertiary is hypothalamus. Loose yellow stools sound more like liver or gall bladder problem. Your current symptoms sound hypo, if you hypo is central (ie secondary or tertiary) TSH should not be measured and won't reflect thyroid hormone levels. I think you need a new doctor or a second opinion. If you are hypo and come off meds, you could become very ill and even die.
