Tightness around thyroid gland when INCREASING thyroid meds

I'm encountering a strange phenomenon. I've recently changed from NDT to a mix of T4 and NDT. I ended up with FT4 ~20% through the range, FT3 ~-20%, TSH of ~30. However, this is not the issue, as I knew I was going to be low, I just wanted to baseline my bloods on the new mix. The weird thing is that since I've increased the dose by about 1/2 grain NDT and 50 mcg T4, I've been experiencing tightness around the lower front of the neck. Another words around the thyroid gland. I remember similar feelings when I had huge TSH and wasn't taking thyroid meds.

This is odd because why did this come on the day I started increasing the dose and not when I was clearly under medicating? Has anyone experienced this and maybe has an explanation and a fix for it? I'm hoping if I persevere, it would go away and I'll start to feel better in general as well...
