this may sound a weird question but does anyone get cystitis/ utis and they take a while to go? Or does levo have any part? started taking levo 3 weeks ago and I got cystitis. Dr said no infection in urine but I was burning and peeing blood but gave me 3 days of antibiotics. Than it didn't go and dr gave me another 10 days. It's still here! I used to get them alot but they would go with antibiotics!

My tsh was 88 last month. I have hashitmos thryiditus. I also have labrythitus and that's not leaving either. seeing ent next week. what is going on?? why isn't anything budging??

I'm on 75 levo every other day.. was on 50 every other day due to not being able to tolerate levo well. specilist aware and seeing her next month.

I hAd something similar several years ago now. My GP would only give me two days antibiotics and then retest-long time ago now but think it was 10 days later and yes still had it and felt is was going but had come back. She even sent me to the hospital for a camera. Hospital were furious but not with me but they did all the tests she asked for and were excited to show me on the screen my bladder getting I few squires of urine coming in. So an interesting experience but wrong treatment. Thankfully when I returned to the surgery they was a locum who listened to me and although she didn’t have the results back increased the medication and it cleared up! I hope the hospital told her off and detailed the correct treatment etc. Not sure if it’s connected to your thyroid meds though as mine were fine at the time but it became a juggling act trying to work out when to take each one. But I would ask for a longer course of antibiotics and drink as much as you can. We tend to forget that as it hurts to pass water but it will get easier.

I started on levo and it effects my HRT (had hysterectomy) 14 years ago,

I got thrush and bladder infection when on it. I’ve stopped levo because it made me so poorly and doctor won’t give me anything else. They are more about saving money than the patients

I agree. Levo makes me ill but not had this before wondering if its a one off thing but it's the first time it hasn't gone with one lot of antibiotics x

I think it messes with the whole system really, body adjusting to different hormones etc. Probiotics are supposed to help I believe. Woman get all the problems 🙄😂 hope things improve for you 🤞

Has a sample been sent to the lab for culture ? dip tests done at the GPs are generally pretty useless.

I needed long term low dose antibiotics, over 2 years in all !!

I’m sure that I read an article some time ago about cystitis and how it is not diagnosed in many cases. Blast my memory! Anyway, it was from a medical chap who said that he has discovered that there are many people with bladder infections which are not picked up on the usual tests. The bacteria in the bladder ‘hide’ and become undetectable. He treats will very long term, low dose antibiotics. If I manage to discover it again I’ll post it here.
