I have recently been diagnosed with under active thyroid and was wondering does anyone else have the throat problem where it feels like you have a flap of skin hanging. Some days its not to bad but others its a real horrible feeling. Was wondering if there is anything you can do when its a bad day.
Many thanks for your time.

When I was undermedicated my throat would get sore, feel bulging and my voice would go hoarse. It came and went according to how active I had been which is why I put it down to the treatment rather than a permanent enlargement of the thyroid. Also the endo felt throat to confirm. However it can also be caused by an enlargement or nodules. As your treatment progresses please monitor it and mention it to your doctor.
Hi, i’m dealing with the same problem. It’s been going on for 2 years, started at the same time when I became hypothyroid. I also have to clear my throat constantly, feels like a postnasal drip, but not able to cough up any phlegm. I constantly have to swallow although nothing goes down. It’s worst after I eat anything. I just had a C.T scan of my sinuses a couple days ago, awaiting results. It’s very annoying and embarrassing as I do this constantly, it seems worse at nights. That flap you are referring to is the same thing that bothers me. I have tried everything, nothing helped. I’m hoping the C.T scan will confirm what the problem is. Will post when I get results. Hang in there, you’re not alone.
Thank you so much for this. I just know what you are saying. Certain foods are so difficult to clear from my throat. I am sorry you have this but glad I'm not alone, thought I was going mad x
