Online GP Services

Hello all, I am hoping to access my test results via one of the GP online services. However, the two that I have so far registered with (Patient Access and Echo) do not appear to include test results. I'd be grateful if any of you helpful people on here could let me know of a service provider that does. In the meantime my fingers are crossed that it's not because my GP doesn't post them.

Generally it seems to be the case that you are given a standard level of access and have to apply specifically for a higher level of access to everything else. Even though it does on the face of it, contravene the subject data access rules that say we must be free to ask for access to our data in whatever form we chose and cannot be obligated to put it in writing, nevertheless Practices act as if they are outside the law and generally demand you complete a form and supply 2 proofs of identity in order to be considered for this higher level. I can't speak for Echo but my friend sees all her results via Patient Access. I have been excommunicated by Patient Access twice myself, for no reason I'm aware of and communication with them is as frustrating as talking to a Dr about thyroid matters, so I don't use them anymore. But yes, speak to your surgery about upping your access level.

Thanks, Maisie. I have given the surgery various forms of ID but will also ask to have the higher level of access. My GP is registered with ten service providers and I wondered which ones, if any, automatically included test results. I suppose I could plough through registering with them all, or just wait 'til Monday and call the surgery.

I always get mine as a printout from the surgery. I wasn’t aware they provide them digitally.

I asked today and apparently mine are available online! Must check as I’ve just been tested.

I need to complete a form and hand it in at surgery for advanced access but even then it's down to GP discretion as to whether you get it.

My surgery uses System Online, that shows your test results.

My GP's Practice uses Patient Access. I usually see my results before my GP contacts me about them. There is also a chart function on the site which shows and compares my results going back to the beginning.

Thanks everyone 🙂. It seems I need to contact the surgery. I've been looking at old posts on this subject and GPs are obliged to provide access to virtually all our records.
