It's very difficult to give you any advice without seeing exact numbers: results, ranges, dosage.

Don't worry about the low TSH. That's not the problem. The problem is the low FT3. If you have a conversion problem, the solution is not to keep increasing the levo, the solution is to take T3.

It is possible to take T3 only - I do. But, we can't tell you if that's the right solution for you without more information. :)

Hi Sohir

I take T3 only - didn’t feel good on T4. Had been in T4 only for about 20 years before I said enough is enough.

Blood pressure and cholesterol both ok. Although I do keep an eye on BP. Hashimotos, I have this, does usually start with low blood pressure, which gradually starts to rise. Good luck

Greygoose, I hope you are doing well! May I ask, did you start out on levo then swap to T3 only? Or did you start on levo and phase it out with the introduction of T3? Just interested in someone else’s experience.

Oh, far more complicated than that!

I started out on T4 only, with an endo had no idea what she was doing.

Saw a lot of doctors after I left her - and after I'd learnt a bit more about my condition - looking for one that actually knew what T3 was - difficult! BTW, I live in France where it used to be very easy to doctor shop - now, you're lucky if you can find a doctor at all!

Finally saw an endo in Paris who put me on Euthyral, which is 100 mcg T4 and 20 mcg T3. Felt better. But, by that time I'd heard of NDT, and moved heaven and earth to get it prescribed.

Found a doctor in Paris who was willing to prescribe it. Was good on Armour for a while, until they change the formula. Tried lots of other brands, but went down-hill rapidly until I was little more than bed-bound whale, with porridge for brains. By this time I was self-treating, having fallen out with the doctor that prescribed Armour because he insisted it was 'the only way to go', despite how bad I was.

Managed to get the porridge to do some thinking and decided to trial T3 only. Felt so much better! Decided to check that I wasn't just imaging it, and went back onto NDT - slide down the slippery slope again, and finally ditched the NDT forever and moved onto T3 only.

Since then, I've tried twice to reintroduce levo into my regime, but both times was forced to stop it because I just didn't feel good on it. So, I don't think I'll bother trying it again. :)

Thanks greygoose. Sounds dreadful to be honest. Are you on that T3 that begins with C, cytomel? It’s interesting to hear that NDT did NOT work for someone. But it really seems that T4 doesn’t work for anyone on here. I find it impossible to know which order to do everything in! I’m guessing it would have made sense to do the DI02 and adrenal saliva test before anything but I’ve not done either yet! Taken me years just to get to this point lol.

No, I'm taking the one that begins with a T, Tiromel. :) But, I think I've taken just about all of them, in my time.

NDT doesn't work for a lot of people. And, actually, quite a few people are well on T4 only, on here. And, the strange thing is, I can convert perfectly. So, doing the DIO2 test wouldn't have helped me.

But, we mustn't squat Sohir's thread any longer. My apologies, Sohir. :)
