I have dry scaly skin on lower legs and upper arms. Just bought some Aveeno cream. It has very good reviews. Suggests two weeks to be effective. Trouble is it has a slight tacky feel after applying and I find that irritating. Has anyone tried this cream. also Ihave rash on elbows and upper arm which I now think could be sun allergy.

Hi Sylvia22,

sorry to hear that - it's horrible isn't it? I've suddenly become much more sensitive to the sun and my skin is terrible - itchy, scaling, thick and very old looking. I don't know yet is this is levo or was going to happen anyway as a result of being hypo. It's hard to tell from your photos but one of them looks like heat rash from the sun. I don't know about creams - I tend to find that the sticky ones work best........

Yes mine sounds just like yours.

I would recommend aqueous cream. It's dirt cheap and you can find it the pharmacy, it's good for allergies etc. Back when I had pityriasis roses it helped me tremendously, my while body was peeling.

I haven’t read your earlier posts but was just wondering if you use a special laundry detergent? It is not uncommon for laundry detergents to cause skin problems & to require “special linen.”

Use various types so don’t think it is that

I love aveeno cram, maybe its not for you as I have never had a tacky feeling. Have you tried e45 itch relief cream? Your doctor can prescribe it or you can buy it. Hope you get sorted out.
