Throat Noises

For some time I have been making a repetitive, involuntary noise in my throat. Like a low level attempt to clear my throat. It’s disturbing for those near me. At the same time my throat always seems a little sore. I do have hypothyroidism for which I take 100 mg a day vLevothyroxine. Is this connected with my thyroid?

Impossible to say if connected to thyroid prob. I had this before & after getting treated for hypothyroidism. I get sore throat & post nasal drip.

I frequently have sinus/catarrh issues with nasal drip.

Have either of you ever had the issues diagnosed or had advice on stopping it?

Hi willsie01, I have catarrh issues & sinus pain, I personally believe is linked to thyroid problems. GP says it’s hayfever but I get all year round. Endo says yes it’s related. I take Sudafed Decongestant tablets, not ones on shelf, these are ‘over the counter’ & contain Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 60 mg. Only thing that works for me.
