Hi - my health had taken a dive since last November. I had a hypertension crisis which triggered atrial fibrillation and i have now just been diagnosed with intracranial hypertension which i believe could have triggered the hypertension and atrial fibrillation. I have been doing my research and i have learnt that levothyroxine can cause intracranial hypertension. Has or does anyone suffer with this and attributed this to levo? Can anyone direct me to further medical evidence of the possible link that i could take with me when i meet with my neologist in July?
My recent thyroid results don't indicate any issues.
Many thanks

Are your thyroid levels in normal range? You need to post them. I also have had afib, now no coffee ,tea or chocolate no large meals i take Taurine, acetyl L Carnitine,L Glutamine ,zinc , selenium , B complex also Amaranth seed, maringa leaf. You may want to look them up.
I am so sorry to hear that. Did the lumbar puncture hurt really bad. I don't know if I could tolerate one. It scares me to no end. But I may eventually have to get one, still my neuro believes it's stress causing my issues. Ent thinks neuro should possibly do one. My optimist says my eye pressure is ok and doesn't see any papillaedema. I don't understand all the faintness feeling with it day and night. And the pulsatile tinnitus is makes it worse with the faitness feeling. It's interesting how it went away for a few days though after it.
So your ICP was normal with the LP so the MRI results were inaccurate...what other test did you have done with it? Just curious if you don't mind me asking.
Hi the fluid taken from my spine is being tested for a range of possible illnesses and infections. The results can take up to three weeks so i am still waiting at the moment.
I'm wondering if this is what I may end of having to do. I just don't know if I'd be able to tolerate the procedure and fear I may have an episode or panic attack while they try to do it. Wish they could sedate for that one. I've heard it is very painful and uncomfortable by a couple people I know that had it done due to back injuries. Part of me wants it done to rule out parasites, fungus, ms (even though my MRI's and MRAs etc are normal and no suspicion of it, but those could be normal and the an LP could show differently). It's hard to trust results sometimes. Like for instance your MRI results saying you have ICP and the LP shows normal. I hope all goes well. Would love to know what they say in three weeks. Take care
The lumbar puncture was not painful at all. The most uncomfortable part of the process was the needle for the anaesthetic. I dont have a back problem. I think the thought of the process is the worst part.
My dad had to have one because he was hit by a motorcycle and they were checking him for something. The other person something different. I know yours was for the ICP testing, glad to know it wasn't painful to you. Yes the thought of it is scary as heck. The epidural I had I could barely sit still because I'm sensitive and it tingled when hey we're doing it. Hitting a ticklish spot I guess and they said o had to be very still. It was hard. So I could only imagine how it would be for a LP....
