I've been hypo for nearly 40 years, currently on 125 thyroxine Also have type2 diabetes and COPD, along with other minor managed ailments. For last approx 2 years I have been losing energy after very little activity and feel constantly fatigued. All I hear from GP and nurse is "well your bloods are fine" anyone a y idea which condition is causing this. Thanks.

FED UP FEELING TIRED.
You need to obtain your blood results with the ranges and post them for advice.Ideally you need TSH,FT4,FT3, ferritin,folate,D3 and B,12 results.
Thankyou, will try to obtain blood results.
Just got blood results from January. TSH. 0.41 NORMAL.0.40-4.50mu/L FT4 17.3PMOll/L. 8.00-21pmol/L. T3 3.7. Pmol/L
2 50-6.50Pmol/L . Ferritin 49 ugly. 13.00-150.00 ug/L. B12 527 ng/L . 200.00. 770.00ng/L. Cant find any folate or D3. All are classed as normal no action. Full blood count -normal no action. If any sense can be made from this I would be very happy. Thankyou. Now have B1 and Q10. See how i go.
Do you actually get to see the blood results, with ranges, as they may have ‘slipped’ over the years ...if not ask the surgery receptionist for print out. I have had diabetes and hypothyroidism for decades and was complaining of tiredness/ pain etc and found TSH had crept up to top of range but still ‘normal’. Does the Gp ever test vitamins/ minerals ( ferritin, folate, vit d and b12) as might be low and causing symptoms?
Hi as well as blood tests which have been mentioned, maybe it would be worth taking vitamin b1 and co enzyme Q10..it helps support mitochondria..I'm taking it, I feel like I have a tiny bit more energy, which is something..
Of course if you do take any supplements, be cautious when having thyroid bloods done as biotin can affect results.
I take a daily multivitamin and vitamin D alongside prescribed meds. I function for about 4hrs a day, after that I just want to curl up and sleep. I cant be bothered to deal with mail or anything which requires concentration I hand all over to my son and daughter. I force myself to walk the dog, it's not fair not to but, otherwise I don't want to go out .thankyou for your advice.
Bless you. It's rubbish isn't it. I told work I had to reduce my hours and stop on calls..it physically drains you doesn't it...then if you do push yourself, other symptoms worsen! But please have a look at Q10, like I say, I'm a bit less tired..which is better than nothing I guess.
Will get some b vits, any more pills I could be rattled at a football match. Thanks.
Well I have been taking vit b1 and Q10 for about 4 weeks now and I am feeling much better. My foggy head has almost cleared and I generally feel quite well. My energy levels are still limited but i associate this more to being diabetic and copd sufferer. Thank you so much for your advice Michaela it's helped me so much.
I always get a copy of my results, so it means next time I have bloods done, I can check them against previous results, to see what's changed. My surgery is always happy to print them for me.
Thankyou for your reply I shall try to follow suit
Hi, when you say you’re taking a multivitamin etc alongside your T4, are you taking them at the same time? If so your absorption of the T4 will be greatly reduced especially by the Vit D and iron.
You need to take T4 on it’s own well away from food, drinks other than water, and all other tablets.
Also multivitamins aren’t a good choice for several reasons particularly if they include iron or iodine as these block absorption of other ingredients. Check out Seaside Susie’s replies to questions about supplements.
Thankyou for your advice but, no I take t4 in early hours and others later.
