Groups in Reading area

Hi

Does anyone know of a group that meets in the Reading Berkshire area.

I have a friend that is struggling with hyperthyroidism and TED.

Feeling pretty hopeless and endo saying to have thyroid removed and to get on with it. Offers no other options.

Theres a Berkshire Thyroid Group on facebook. I'm not sure they meet that often though. I'm not far away, but not much use to her since I've always been hypo.

As far as I know there is no group but I had Graves Disease and have had a Thyroidectomy, so know a lot about it. I could possibly help. Ask her to join and send me a private messages if she is interested. I live eight miles away.

I will let her know you have offered contact.

She too has Graves and is very up and down mood wise.

I don’t think they have managed to get her dose right for the last two years.

I was exactly the same in needing to keep changing the dose of carbimazole, (is that what she is on?) so I may be able to help.

Yes. Then a change of endo with a tough attitude. You know what it’s like when you are in the consultation. Leave you floundering...
