So GP gave me 1st issue of T3 with repeat for 5 months

Got a call to say can’t have it now and the gp should not of given it in the 1st place

Called gp this morning and he’s said he got into trouble from the practice

THe funny thing he said

T3 IS A FOOD SUPPLEMENT AND I CAN BUY IT OVER THE COUNTER

So, thyroid hormone is a food supplement he says, and there was I thinking you had found a rare creature, a medic who understands thyroid disease! Ouch!!

Your NHS endocrinologist says you have clinical need

Your GP should prescribe

Print this out and give it to him. He needs to stand up for his patient

Not as silly as it sounds! When I was first diagnosed NDT was always referred to as a food supplement so it was never mentioned in my notes so may be he has read something about that time. However my food supplement was available on an NHS prescription!
