Medichecks thyroid plus result

Hi, I recently made a post saying how I'd been feeling very tired and achey for a long time with no answers as to why.

I've just had my results back from medichecks thyroid plus (photo attached).

Not sure where to go from here because it has come back as normal but I've read on thyroid uk that TSH over 2.5 is not great..

Any advice would be appreciated, cheers

Your first post shows extremely low ferritin which won't be helping

Thyroid levels

Was this test done as early as possible in morning and fasting?

TSH higher than average, but possibly/probably not high enough for GP to treat

Median TSH graph

FT4 very low

FT3 low

Antibodies not high though

Ask GP for ultrasound scan of thyroid

Getting iron and ferritin levels improved essential

Eating liver or liver pate once a week, plus other iron rich foods like black pudding, prawns, spinach, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, plus daily vitamin C can help improve iron absorption

Retest thyroid once vitamins are optimal

Thank you so much for all the information and links, it's very helpful. I am going to show my doctor the graph of normal TSH levels at next appointment and see what she says. Yes I did do the test fasted at about 6.30am.

I didn't know anything about irons relation to the thyroid. The low iron does make sense as I am vegan. I am going to really try and eat as much iron rich food as possible and take some gentle iron supplements, then retest in a couple of months like you say.

Thanks again :)

Incredibly difficult to maintain adequate iron levels with vegan diet, without continuously supplementing iron

All plant based iron is non heme
