Shame on Barnsley hospital

After finally been told last week the endocrinologist would order an alternative brand of t3. As in previous post I had some reaction, I believe to be over medicated at the time.

The endocrinologist has got cold feet and wants to talk to his director as apparently he’s director does not agree on liothyronine t3 been given to patients. This is due to money etc. The endo says he also does not want to be liable if I become unwell as he’s saying I had an allergic response. I don’t think so I know my reactions.

I’m now left deflated under medicated and due to money I can’t do anything.

Any other endocrinologist recommended via nhs, Sheffield, Wakefield, Rotherham or near by as I’m not getting the help I need at Barnsley.

Previous post says you started on 10mcg dose of T3

That was far too large a dose to start on

5mcg is maximum starter dose and even that can be too much for some people. Suggest you try 2.5mcg for first few days....once you get lactose free T3

You're lactose intolerant and T3 was Mercury Pharma which contains lactose

Obviously you will need lactose free T3. Teva T3 is widely available

Endocrinologist likely a Diabetes specialist. Obviously they should have specified lactose free T3

Email Dionne at Thyroid Uk for list of recommended thyroid specialists
