... what kind of prescription does that mean? Does it have to be written by a Turkish doctor or can it be an english prescription? Would a letter from a doctor saying you are on this medication be worth anything? Am going to the Antalya region next week.. thanks

I would interpret that if, as has been said, T3 is prescription only now in Greece and Turkey, that would mean a prescription issued in those countries.
Some people have managed to get the odd packet here and there over the counter from the odd pharmacy in Greece, I don't think anyone has mentioned Turkey, so it may be worth asking and if you have a box that you can show them that might help.
Thanks.. After you told me about them being prescription only I had forgotten about the tablets but ended up booking a holiday to Turkey anyway so thought it worth a shot. I will try all the local pharmacies and let you kmow if I have any success!
It's more available in Greece this year than last, though haven't tried Turkey. Someone commented on a barber bringing it back for them, recently, so I assume it's still OTC there too.
Rhub4rb my top tip is to check Google maps for pharmacies near where you're staying, though it's not always accurate. There may be a Turkish online yellow pages app you can peruse before you
go. The Greek Vrisko app is available in English, so perhaps a Turkish
one will be, too. Your hotel might be able to help, & also phone on your behalf should you need to order some.
Interested to read that T3 is more available on Greece this year. We still have to show our prescriptions and this month there was quite a delay when normally they are delivered the next day ... which did panic us momentarily ..
Sorry Marz , I bought it all again. Tears & blisters, plus robbery, more tears, & sunburn!
I travelled a little further afield to my last two trips. Some pharmacies said it didn't exist, others that they couldn't get it. Some offered to order for the next day but I didn't know I'd be able to find my way back again & it seemed uncertain compared to trying a different suburb. Still only one in five pharmacies had any, which was better than last time. I'm trained to spot the green signs from a distance, but so frustrating to get there & find the pharmacy closed, or I've gone full circle.
It would be worth taking a picture of a box of Tiromel with you (print one out from the web - just search images for Tiromel).
The current box (unless its changed and I'm not aware of it) is the one with a narrow lilac stripe at the top then a wide white stripe and then a wide brown stripe.
