I have been taking three and a half 25mcg Liothyronine for some time, and 50mcg Levo for quite some time. My source in Cyprus has ceased trading. Also my local Social Services have adopted the policy of leaving me with barely enough to live on, the requrining me to reclaim all 'out of pocket expenses'.
They are insisting on prescription by a UK doctor. Can some body give me an idea of the cost of private prescriptions and UK sourced Lio please?

The medical profession in the UK have withdrawn prescriptions for T3 on a 'no warning' basis, i.e. not informing patients that they will pay no longer for patients who used to be prescribed T3. The reason being that the cost (and we have three suppliers) rose by 6,000%. Many have been forced to try to source their own, which isn't always easy.
The fact is that because their was no warning whatsoever it has caused a crisis amongst patients who can only have good health with either T4/T3 or T3 alone.
Only Endocrinologists can now prescribe T3 but even some of those wont do so.
Many patients have been caused severe anxiety - but no thought has been given to this and I've no clue what those patients who don't have internet will do - just become more and more unwell. So much for the 'humane care.
Due to this lack of T3 throughout the year so far, it is more difficult to source it.
