Dear Gingersnap202,

Wasn't it Mountbatten-Winsor?, NOT that it really 'Matters' that much....It's STILL Good News! Either way we have another 'Aire To The Throne'- 5th, I think. (please do correct ME, if I'm wrong.)

Peace, and Good Will, to them ALL.

Being in the USA I might have gotten the surnames wrong. But I love the "Archie" part. Not old and stodgy, but still a UK name. ... Just perfect! ... Didn't you love the Duke and Duchesses faces when they presented him! ... Love this couple!

Dear Gingersnap202,

I'm sorry, I wouldn't have 'Corrected' you, if I had know that you were an American. It's Lovely that you take such an Interest, in our Monarchy- thank you.

Greetings to Yo'all (does anyone actually EVER say that?)

Best Wishes AndrewT

It's a Southern thing. You will hear " Y'all" in Georgia, North and South Carolina...and on through the Southern US states. ... My Mothers family was from Arkansas, so I'm familiar with "Y'all". ... It's simply a contraction of you all.

IE: Referring to "Everybody."

Thank you Gingersnap202, I though that it referred to 'Everyone'...as in 'Howdy Y'all'.

And I thought it was Greek... Archimedes, don't you know. 😊

At first I thought it was Archibald, I felt momentarily sick.

Apologies for being a tad cynical, but there's very good reasons for countries not having a monarchy.

I see nothing to be excited about, with there being another royal baby!

Why so Bah Humbug!? ... All babies should be welcomed with joy.

Because Its my view, and I'm expressing that view.

If you post things, you are open to people responding with their replies, that may be opposite to your views.

Nothing bah humbug about that.

Why not post that some random baby has been born on a housing estate somewhere in the UK, whose birth is just as relevant as a royal babies birth?

Obviously, we can do both! :~)

But we don't, as we're conditioned to live in a hierarchical society, those at the bottom are seen as irrelevant, and those at the top are seen as important.

All a load of rubbish of course, and I refuse to buy in to the subservient crap that is perpetuated by the press and media.

Look at the pics of the lovely royal baby, and forget that we've had 10 years of austerity, and it's all been a political choice, to hammer the poor in to the ground.

Which has lead to homelessness doubling here in a decade... But that's ok for Harry and Meghan, they just get them cleared off the streets for the world's press coverage on their wedding day.

Can't have people in sleeping bags ruining the pictures now!

Hi Gingersnap202

This link to the BBC is an explanation of the new royal babys name.

FYI Archie is 7th in line to the throne just after his dad.

I thought Harrison (Harry's son) was clever, I missed that one. But I am sorry, I think Archie sounds stupid. The article didn't mention Archie Bunker, the first Archie that came to my mind. It's also diminutive - the ...ie ending, when he is a man that will not sound good.

Archie will be fine as a child, but it will likely become "Arch" when he's an adult. ... I did NOT think of Archie Bunker at all ... and I'm in the US. ... I DID think of Archie comic books, as my big brother used to read them to me when I was four and five. ... Actually taught me to read them, which did me no favor, as when I went to school I was bored silly. ... "Run Spot run" just didn't compare to the adventures of Archie, Betty and Veronica!

That's interesting, I am half and half English and American. The first half of my life was growing up in England and my second half was in America and when I first came to America Archie Bunker and "All in the Family" (I think it was called) was all the rage and I was an avid fan. I was not here for Archie comic books, that was before my arrival.

I’m afraid that I thought of the Archie Comic books too, although I’m familiar with Archie Bunker also.

Hi, I’m from the US too and I loved Princess Diana so I take an interest in William and Harry also. I’m wishing both of them and their families great health and happiness and especially to little baby Archie.
