Why did she lower your dose? On the basis of TSH alone? By how much did she reduce your dose? She may have good intentions, but she probably doesn't know that much about thyroid.
Yes it was my tsh I was on 150 thyroxine per day and she lowered it to 125, 125, 150 so the 150 every 3 days basically. I feel like I have a head full of cotton wool. Also re joint pain she said it was probably because I had been to high too long so. That makes no sense at all because the problems all started about a week in to the lower dose and got progressively worse.
Thanks for answering
She did say I know you hate me right now and I was so upset that I just
I don't blame you! I would probably have said the same thing! And, she is totally ignorant and should not be dosing by the TSH. That is wrong, wrong, wrong. It is the least important number. The most important is the FT3, but if she can't test that (money-saving stupid rules) she should at least test the FT4. And, if she won't do that, I would suggest to her that she is guilty of malpractice, because the TSH on its own means nothing. It certainly can't tell you if you're over-medicated. And, the proof is that you now feel worse. And, she can squirm and squiggle all she likes with her bogus theories, but she is 100% wrong.
Well they are doing them again next Wednesday morning I’m just going to have to stay under medicated till then but they promised this time to send me to endo AND she said that she had requested t3 and r4 but ‘doubts they will do them’ ?? I have just been to the hospital for a chest X-ray she sent me for and they didn’t even know I was coming. It’s terrifying knowing your life is literally in the hands of These people. Thankfully 😅 I had a doctors letter otherwise they would have thought I was nuts, and there was a very very helpful receptionist and he squeezed me in.
Que será será I feel terrible but at least I have made myself heard and things are moving.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer my rants x
