T3 and digestion

Hi all

Had a lot of trouble with my small intestines since November and lost 2 stone

The pain is we’re my small intestines meets my colon

Like flank pain

Tried gluten and dairy free for a month and made no difference also tried low fod map diet and made no difference

It comes and goes. GI says it’s IBS. Mmmm

I have been adding T3 daily and it feels a bit better from time to time

Could it be the T4 causing the problems or the fillers?

Does T3 help with digestion?

Thanks

when i had T3 added i no longer had to take omneprozal/lansaprozal.. i had been told i had hiatis hernia, i no longer suffer with heartburn problems..and obviuosly ave never had hiatis hernia.. so T4 either didnt help and caused my problems or t3 just cured it .. i havent had any problems since taking it,, 14 years i took those harmful drugs ..x

It can take a while to get dose of T3 optimal and once optimal can take several weeks/months for gut to improve

How long have you been on T3 and how long at current dose

You will need bloods retested after 6-8 weeks on constant unchanging dose of Levothyroxine and T3

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw). This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Yes, most of us find slow steady improvement once levels are stable

For example I have slowly been able to reduce levels of vitamin supplements

That is so interesting . Would you mind please to share which vitamins you where able to reduce ? I would be very interested . It's amazing once the thyroid meds are up to par and working well for us we then can relax some of our nutrients .
