Hashimoto’s/Hypothyroidism & No Meds

Is anyone having any success without prescription medication? I’m in the US and all my doctor will prescribe is either Armour Thyroid or Levothyroxine. I have found I can’t take either one. On Armour my blood pressure is sky high/heart palpitations/racing on lowest dose, blood test numbers are all over the place. On Synthroid my hair falls out in mass/memory is REALLY bad, but all my tests come back “normal”.

Right now I’m totally off meds. No - dairy, gluten, alcohol, grains, sugar, nightshades, soy for the most part. I take magnesium, d3/k2, celery juice, selenium, stuff for gallbladder issues. Heart palpitations/racing are periodic and right now I’m suffering with hot tingly feet/legs/arms/whole body at times, hair fallout is manageable, sleep is good...all other symptoms have either gone into hiding or are gone for the moment.

How are your B12 & folate levels?

I forgot to mention I’m taking methylated B12/Folate, Thiamine, B2, Biotin. The last I saw they were good to a little high.

Perhaps try a sublingual B12 in case you have absorption issues.

I had low levels despite >1.000% RDA from diet & a B complex. My tingling/burning went away on sublingual methyl then self-injecting hydroxocobalamin.

It's not good to stop meds if you need them, so perhaps read up on the cofactors that will help your meds work better, & ask your doctor to try you on T3 in case it's the T4 that doesn't agree with you. I like NDT, or at least Nature Throid & WP Thyroid, so a change of brand could help as Armour has fillers might not suit you.
