Could someone please give me advice, can I take my thyroid tablet at the same time as my blood pressure tablets (I take 3 tablets for hbp) My BP tablets cause me dizziness so I set my alarm to take them, then go back to sleep. Or should I take my thyroid tab at night? All replies will be welcome. Thank you

Always advised here is to take your Levo on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after food, with a glass of water only, no tea, coffee, milk, etc, and water only for an hour either side, as absorption will be affected. Take any other medication and supplements 2 hours away from Levo, some need 4 hours. This is so that nothing can affect the absorption of Levo. Your profile shows previous posts that say you take NDT. As NDT contains T4, then the same time gap ought to apply.

Many members take their Levo at night and say they feel better for it. You could try taking your NDT at night and see how it goes. As long as you follow the advice above, take it when it is convenient for you

The only thing you might take with thyroid hormones is vitamin C, which helps absorption. Or so the experts here told me! I used to take Levo early morning when I get up for the toilet but recently usually take it at night instead because of missing my morning cuppa. Have to be careful not to have tea, coffee, milk or anything else containing calcium less than 4 hours before taking. If you are on iron I think the 4 hour rule applies as well.

Far be it from me to contravene professional advice, but just to let you know that I take my levo and blood pressure tablets together, after a morning cup of tea, and I'm just fine. Blood pressure now normal, no change to how I feel on the hypo side. Obviously it may be different for others, but I try to make life as easy as poss re. tablets. Can't be doing with all this one hour, two hour, etc etc. If I felt ill in any way I might of course revise my regime, but for sometime now, have felt perefectly well taking the two tablets together.

You could be fine. But next week, when you are unexpectedly changed to a different blood pressure tablet, you could find yourself anything but fine.

Similarly, if for some reason you can't make your self that cup of tea (power cut?, in an aeroplane?) and carry on. You could find yourself absorbing better hence slightly over-dosed.

I take my levo and BP meds first thing in the morning, every morning and this works for me.

I take Levothyroxin and Losartin for my blood pressure and Atorvastatin for high cholesterol together first thing in the morning with a glass of water. One hour later I have breakfast and a cup of tea - no I'll effects.

I used to take all my drugs together first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee but since listening to the good people on here I now take my Levo separately at 6 am and feel much better controlled for it.
