Hi Sharon

I drink green tea every day, also nettle tea and peppermint tea. None of them has caused any problems for me. I have Hashimoto's.

Best wishes

I drink only green tea and water daily with no side effects. Remember green tea does contain caffeine if you are trying to avoid this substance.

Just make sure it's more than an hour after your thyroid meds, & iron if you take that.

I drink white tea, too. Both are lower in caffeine & tannins than black tea, but there's enough to mess up our thyroid hormones & iron absorption if taken too close.

Drink it with a slice of lemon for better catachin absorption. :)

There are high fluoride levels in black, green and white teas. Fluoride is bad for thyroid.

I read an interesting scientific article explaining the difference between organic & inorganic forms of minerals. Organic fluoride form, like that found in tea, is not harmful.

Flatly contradicted by this detailed paper:

An abundance of fluoride can be released during tea infusion and the bioavailability of the released fluoride is nearly 100% to consumers, owing to the soluble fluoride ions from tea are easily adsorbed through the gastrointestinal tract.

Tea might additionally contain organic fluorine compounds.

And consider tap water. How safe is that? Broadly there are a number of beliefs about water. 1 the government view, 2 the plastic bottle users(millions) and 3 the glass

bottle users. 1 is lies number 2 omits the endocrine disrupter BPA which can cause

a raft of issues including weight gain, pcos, fibroids, infertility etc.

the glass bottle users probably get the best water. Or you could get a distiller and add in minerals or a proper filter that gets rid of most pollutants.
