I gave this up years ago but I still keep hearing about the benefits would you try?
Does green tea affect thyroid medication?
While green tea contains significantly less caffeine than coffee, it still supplies 30 mg to 40 mg per cup. 4 Caffeine is known to inhibit proper absorption of the common thyroid hormone replacement drug levothyroxine. If you are taking this medication, it's best to wait 30 minutes before consuming green tea.
Yes, but when you're on thyroid hormone replacement of any sort, goitrogens aren't going to affect you. What they do is impede the up-take of iodine by the thyroid. If you're taking THR, not only are you getting extra iodine from that, but your thyroid isn't even using the iodine it has because it's not making hormone anymore. So, forget goitrogens - except soy. That's the exception.
I don't know if drinking green tea will help you lose weight - I rather doubt it, somehow, never did for me - but it won't do you any harm in moderation.
Thanks for this 😇 made me happy knowing I can go back to it .
Yes it’s suppose to rev your metabolic rate up
I was also having ooolong tea. Really strong black tea 🤢 for the health benefits. It stained my teeth so badly it looked like I smoke 90 woodbine a day
This made me laugh but it reminded me that I have a box of green tea and I should try it again. What does the oolong taste like? It’s fermented isn’t it? Thanks.
Yes the oolong is very very strong I always had it without milk . It’s excellent healing properties as I remember but you’d need to get your teeth polished every 2 weeks or your teeth look very stained . Mine did I was alway booking in for a polish my dentist did well out of me then I stopped drinking it .
Tried white tea too as that was suppose to have similar benefits but that had a strange taste .
I’ve drunk fennel and lemon which I like , lots of peppermint and lemon and ginger . But I did fancy trying the green again
To see if it would help shift some hormonal belly 😊
No, like I said your post reminded me that I have some from a while back which I should finish off but often forget and I go back to normal black decaf tea with milk. I will try to.
