Hi. Anyone here managing to obtain prescription for Armour or Liothyronine? If so which CCG do you fall under? Anyone challenged their local CCG for refusal to prescribe anything but levothyroxine? Anyone been successful in their challenge and what legal challenge if did they mount?

If an NHS endocrinologist says you have clinical need of T3 you should be prescribed
Even more difficult to get NDT
I am getting prescribed Liothyronine and live in Swindon, Wiltshire. Saw Endo at Great Western Hospital on referral by GP. He already had blood results and all he wanted to do was to hear fr0m me how I felt. So told him the history, how it affected my life before being diagnosed, then how I felt once Levo was prescribed. How it only helped me a very little and for years still suffered terribly. I was prescribed lio in a different region but when I moved GP would not prescribe. I went downhill. GP said would only prescribe if Endo said to. So she referred me and I had no argument from the Endo. He was all for prescribing it (regardless of cost) as long as he felt the patient would benefit. I was expecting a hard time, but it was not. He was on my side. He listened to me and heard me and accepted that I was far better on Lio than off.
Edited to add. He did say though he wanted me to also take levo to get the blood results correct, so prescribed me 50mcg or mg - forget which now.
