Teva : Hi my daughter has been diagnosed lactose... - Thyroid UK
Teva
She can only try it. If it causes problems she'll need to go back to her doctor and see what else they will offer.

jwoodward5, I would say go ahead and try the Teva brand. Yes, some people have problems with it, but many others find it works well for them. The only way your daughter will know whether or not it agrees with her is to try it.
Generally lactose intolerance is more common than diagnosed. There are enzymes tablets for lactose. Usefully thing, becouse lactose is anywhere. In soups, sausages, bread ... worth to try. But if she doesn't have diarrhea after milk it could be something else. If try with soda bicarbonate. 1 tea spoon in 1 200 ml cold either. Up to three times. By symptom. Normally one is enought if symptoms stills another one. I never used more then 3. After five minutes gas is put out. Sometimes you can feel acid. But it is CO2 not HCL. CO2 Is protecting colllonies of Helicobacter pylori bacteria from stomach acid and enzymes. Hadache can ocuure in 12 hours. Died bacterias toxins ... Take everitime you feel not good in stomach.
I know there are loads of negative responses to Teva but for me it’s the only one I feel good on. Don’t listen to others just try for yourself
It's a Marmite brand....some love it
