Was about to order Cytomel from Mexico when I came across this site. If doctors would listen, people wouldn’t be so desperate to try T3 from sources less than legitimate. I can’t continue to suffer knowing that all I need is T3 added to my T4, in order to have much improved quality of life. Where can I order legitimate T3? Mexico?Europe?

Since I’m new, diagnosed Hashimoto’s 15 years ago. Am currently on 175mcg Synthroid. Recent TSH labs show too much T4, so doctor wants to decrease Synthroid. I am still symptomatic with too much T4. Obviously need T3. I asked for a prescription for Cytomel, and have been prescribed it in the past. Physician retired and new one refuses T3. My quality of life is nonexistent. I’m recently divorced, single parent and have returned to school. The fatigue and muscles aches are so bad that I’m not going to make it. I am on the verge of losing everything and am desperate to find a T3 source to save it all, including my life. If I can’t find here, will take my chances with Mexico. I have to try something regardless of the risks. Feel I have nothing to lose.
Hashimoto's affects the gut and leads to low stomach acid and then low vitamin levels
Low vitamin levels affect Thyroid hormone working
Stress can badly affect Thyroid too
Poor gut function can lead leaky gut (literally holes in gut wall) this can cause food intolerances. Most common by far is gluten. Dairy is second most common.
According to Izabella Wentz the Thyroid Pharmacist approx 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% find gluten free diet helps, sometimes significantly. Either due to direct gluten intolerance (no test available) or due to leaky gut and gluten causing molecular mimicry (see Amy Myers link)
Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies
Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first or buy test online for under £20, just to rule it out first
Trying gluten free diet for 3-6 months. If no noticeable improvement then reintroduce gluten and see if symptoms get worse
