Need a laugh!

Today my husband received a letter from our surgery inviting him to take part in some Weight Watcher sessions! The fact he is 6’6” tall and weighs 76.1 LG’s when wet seems to have escaped their attention!

Always reminds me of something you find lying on a sarcophagus but then I’m the one who needs Weight Watchers!

Reminds me of the practice nurse who told my then-partner that he was "very obese" when he hadn't got a spare ounce of flesh on him; and yet she herself, was short and very fat and must have realised that her calculation of my partner's BMI was absolutely wrong if only in comparison to her own.

WeightWatchers must be rubbing their hands together in glee at this kind of thing. More money for their coffers. I must be getting old, the world appears to have gone barking. 🤸🏿‍♀️🥛

Anybody less likely to need to lose weight than my husband would be hard to find. He eats like a horse and we struggle to keep weight on him. Most unfair.

Lucky man! I've often wondered whether people like your husband might be mildly hypERthyroid or at the hypER end of normal. Has he ever had TFTs done?

in reply toRedApple

No. Odd thing is his brother is hyperthyroid but of a much bigger build.

If he was my OH I'd want him to do a private thyroid test to see what his numbers look like (out of sheer curiosity) :D

75, doesn’t take a pill! But, does all the housework, cooking etc while I sit and watch! That’s why I’m wearing his weight!!😂

Do you hire him out? Or maybe he has a twin :D

It’s taken me 54 years to train him!!

Yes I’d like to know too!! I have 2 very very slim children, one normal and one born with muscles (that’s not me being kind about his weight, he doesn’t carry any but is built like an athlete, has been since he was a threenager! Lol) my husband is on the skinny side but with a wee beer belly that you can’t see with clothes on)

I’m an athletic build naturally so when I put weight on (like the 2kg I’m carrying now) I just looked a bit sturdier!

My daughters physique is very much like my sisters and she has Graves.

I find it all very fascinating! My 23andme results said I’d weigh more than average and have the muscle composition of elite athletes 😂

I suffer from AFib as well as an under active thyroid and my pulse rate is that of a trained athlete! Which is the closest I get to it xx

Ooo that’s interesting! I should look into that. My Apple Watch registers my heart rate as low even when I’m not fit. Off to google AFib! 😂 This forum is like a gold mine to education (even if I don’t have AFib I’m always eager to find out more)
