Hi everyone. Has anyone come across any ways of slowing down hair loss and helping dry skin. I was wondering is it the case of just low on certain nutrition that causes these issues. Anyone out there with underactive thyroid that hasn't lost any hair.?

Losing hair and dry skin
Hi. First you need to make sure that you have your under active thyroid medication at optimal levels. Others on this site can offer guidance on that. There are many helpful posts on the subject.
As far as hair is concerned, you need to establish if you have Male pattern androgenic alopecia. If you do then I believe that some men can benefit from finasterade for Male pattern baldness. There are side effects tho. But you will need the advice of a dermatologist. Another thing you may wish to discuss with your GP is stinging nettle supplement as I have read that this is very effective for androgenic alopecia in men. Hope this helps 😊
When I was taking levothyroxine my skin was exceptionally dry. Flaky dry. The moment I switched to an NDT at optimal level the dryness within a day just disappeared. Instantly disappeared particularly the soles of my feet. My skin is still dry not exceptionally it means I must use the right lotion but the underlying dryness for me resolves itself by taking the right medication.
