Hi all, it’s me again but hopefully this will be an easy answer. Whenever I look at other people’s blood tests their tsh is low when t4 is high in the range. This never seems to happen to me. My latest blood results done by the gp are:
TSH 0.14 (0.35-5.5)
T4 11.6 (7-17)
The lab says keep dosage the same and retest in 3 months. I’m still exhausted most of the time and off work. Am I just somebody who needs less t4 or does it not work like that? I know that dr tofts recommendation is to be near the top of the range but I just can’t seem to get there.
I will do a medichecks full panel next month to check on vitamins and minerals.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

I’m not much experienced but knee jerk reaction is you look under medicated. What dose of T4 meds are you taking currently? You also need your T3 blood serum level tested as this is the active form of thyroxine and will give a more complete picture of what is happening with your meds.
Thanks, that’s what I thought. The doctor doesn’t want to increase as tsh is “below range”. I’m on 125mcg of levothyroxine currently. Yes I will get the t3 test after payday privately, my doctor won’t do it.
Your free t4 is less than 50% through the range so you are undermedicated and need a dose increase regardless of TSH (which is not a thyroid hormone). I bet your Free T3 is rock bottom.
