Test results query?

Hello lovely people --

I am posting my thyroid test results the top ones are from December '18 and underneath them March '19.

I have been taking T3 only since about July, after being prescribed Levo for around 3 and a half years, and just deteriorated badly whilst on it. So I self-medicated by adding in T3 and still didn't improve. After seeing an amazing private endo (after saving up a lot of money!) he said to slowly decrease my Levo and go to T3 only. After getting all of the Levo out of my system, I finally started to slowly improve, until around December when I suddenly lost my supplier. I have been using some 2016 (but kept in the freezer) T3 ever since, and a lower dose to eek it out whilst I sort out a private prescription in Germany ( I may need to write another post on that - as I am having problems!).

So basically I am asking how my T3 is over - active when I feel so much worse than before, and also I am now taking less T3 it is even more over - active! I just don't understand! I am so, so stressed - my GP wants to put me on some anti-anxiety or anti-depressants, but I know its because my Thyroid isn't right, but after seeing these results - I have no idea!

EDIT : Just realised that the image shows my Gluten profile, I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease about 2 years ago, and been very strict on my diet since. I have also been diagnosed with a severe allergy to dairy as well.

Please help if you can, I am really struggling here.

Thank you very much.

Belle xxx

There are several possibilities and perhaps T3 isn't getting into the cell receptors. Hard to tell without more information. Often estrogen dominance is a problem or even high cortisol. Could it be the same problem you had with T4?

I think my cortisol is very high - could it be a reverse T3 problem? Is there anyway to sort the cortisol or RT3 problem? :) Thank you

This is probably going to be too long but often high cortisol is why we even begin to have a dysfunction. There is nothing wrong with any gland, it's the fact of too much stress for the glands to handle and then it's a long list. High cortisol shuts things down so it can concentrate on getting you out of the perceived trouble Slowing digestion then starts the gut issues. Your gut is truly the second brain and decides how to handle your new normal. For true healing it's a matter of getting out of the fight or flight state and your body can follow. There is a whole world of relaxation techniques which can physically relieve stress.

Some supplements help to reduce cortisol and you could ask about that but you have to get rid of stressors like gluten or dairy. (I notice you added that diet change, good) You have to get enough sleep. Just 1 mg of melatonin can help. Perhaps GABA would help. Others may have ideas.

I think antidepressants use some of the same receptors as t3 and then don't work.

Thank you for the great information. I do suffer really badly with IBS, but I have seen my GP about it, and she just said it was to do with diet and said to take buscopan. Which I now seem to be taking everyday! Whatever I try to help with my digestion, nothing seems to work. Can I ask what GABA is? I have not heard of that. Thank you very much :)

So sorry about the IBS. I don't know the specifics of the side issues that come with autoimmune conditions. Have you done any IGG testing? I just did a food sensitivity test using hair analysis and surprisingly found that avocado and radish were not good for me. Who would think. Some of these tests are rna tests using stool and probably that would be helpful if you can afford it. Otherwise, using an elimination diet could be helpful and won't cost you. There are certain foods considered safe and you stay with just those for a few days and then begin introducing others although wheat and dairy are often the prime problems which you know.

There is also a condition called SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and this may be a more common cause for IBS. I've posted about this and watched a summit. Dr. Perlmutterl or Alison Siebecker could be researched. The fact is that there is just too many bacteria and then when your food adds more it riles things up. I think they use a fodmap diet for this if you haven't heard. The idea is to avoid foods that take a long time to digest. It really could be the basis for the IBS. I have to leave and may add more later. Wishing you well.
