What exactly do they mean by 'thyroid is raised'? Do they mean the TSH? Or the Free T4? Without knowing that much at least, it's difficult to respond. You really should get a print-out of your results - it is your legal right to have one. You need to know exactly what is going on, and not just put up with the vague brush-off your doctor has just given you.

But, if your TSH is raised, you have an UNDER-active thyroid, not over-active. And that formula would not be right for you because it contains iodine, which can make things ten times worse. Always beware of anything that calls itself 'support', because by 'support', what they usually mean is 'stimulation', and stimulating a sick gland is not a good thing to do. :)

All the doctors told me is that I’m slightly overactive but nothing to worry about, but I’m getting the symptoms

Then ring the receptionist at your surgery and ask her to print out your results, and you will call to collect then at her convenience. No-one can advise you without more information. :)

Hi barneymc11

I note that your last post was three years ago and that you were diagnosed as overactive.

Did you have your thyroid gland removed or what happened?

I am assuming your doctor tested the TSH and T4 only - as that is what is common but doesn't always take account of our clinical symptoms. The following are for hypothyroidism. Any blood tests you have should be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take it afterwards.

Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges for your own records. You can post them so that members can respond.

Before you begin to take the tablets in your picture and other members will respond too, you should have a Full Thyroid Function Test, following the above procedure which allows the TSH to be at its highest. The TSH drops throughout the day and may mean the results aren't accurate.

A Full Thyroid Function Test is:

TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. There are private labs that do home pin-prick tests and make sure you're well-hydrated and this is a link with more information. Read SeasideSusie s tips:-

At least you will know what's going on in your body. Also if you can update your Profile of your thyroid journey - where your name is at present - so that we don't need to ask you repeat questions.

Your vitamins/minerals also have to be optimal, i.e. B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
