best t4 and t3 to take that does not contain gluten, lactose or acacia filler

Hello,

My Endo finally prescribed a t3/t4 combination today after 3 years of begging and only because I now have severe osteoporosis and one reason for that could be that I have been self sourcing T3 after conversion issue on levothyroxine only, and my T3 is a little on the high side which adds to osteoporosis. I am Gluten and lactose sensitive and when I took levothyroxine previously it didn't work for me and I had lots of allergy issues. I think it may have been the acacia. The T3 (brand morningside)that I have been given contains lactose and acacia and so does the t4 (brand mercury pharma). Does anyone know of any T3 and T4 that does not contain gluten, lactose or acacia that is available in the UK

It may not be high t3 which caused osteoporosis, could it be that there is no calcitoninin in t4 only meds? If the thyroid isn't working then it won’t be making calcitonin, the purpose of which, may be to keep calcium in the bones, by stopping it leeching into the blood stream.

There is i understand, calcitonin in NDT.

Well my thyriod won't be working because it was removed 2 years ago..that is an interesting point, I wonder if there are others who had a thyriodectomy and were prescribed Lego that ended up with severe osteoporosis

Paper here which found that female patients on t4 only, v patients on t4 and calcitonin had less bone density after a year of t4. scielo.br/scielo.php?script...

I am having a full thyriodectomy on Monday!!! Bricking it! Had half out in Dec. I know i am allergic to most things so from Monday i will be taking liquid levo thyroxine T4. See if you can get the liquid T4. I understand that T3 doesn't come in liquid unless you get a very expensive private prescription. Which is possible.

Tirosint has very little in the way of inactive ingredients and does not have acacia in it. It is very expensive to be sure. I too had allergic reaction to Synthroid which does have acacia in it. I am taking the Tirosint with generic T3 and so far no allergic reactions.

Great suggestions . You might need lower dose of Tirosint since it's pure T4 with no fillers .

No, it is in the information packet of the actual med itself. I am taking it at this time. Synthroid does contain acacia and you can look that up on their website for inactive ingredients. As I said I took Synthroid (Brand name T4) for over 20 years and at the end was having all sorts of allergic issues.

Have a look at that link I gave you to thyroid replacements available in the UK. Tirosint is on page 10 under "American Levothyroxine (not licensed in the UK)".

Many "unlicensed" medications are available on prescription, so theoretically it should be available if your GP is willing to write a prescription.

I also have osteoporosis 12 % into the red. I moved to a different state, my new doctor took me off nature thyroid and put me on levothyroxine when I came down with a lung infection. I've had half my thyroid removed due to a goiter. After 6 years and so many side effects she finally put me back on nature thyroid. In that 6 years I developed osteoporosis. I have been educating myself on osteoporosis and it can be reversed. I believed the levothyroxine was the cause for my calcium loss. I then was put on fosamax for the osteoporosis I took that for 3 months and stopped also due to awful side effects with me, I could hardly get out of bed and walk. The levothyroxine caused me to have bad acid reflux, therefore had to be on omeprazole which depletes calcium which I just recently learned. Going back to nature thyroid I now have been abled to get off omeprazole. You have to get off that if your ever going to reverse osteoporosis and try to rebuild or stop the progression. I still have some side effects just not as bad. What can be difficult is trying to get the dosage correct. I split mine up as my pharmacist suggested. I am trying to reverse mine as natural as I can. They say nature thyroid had less fillers. I suppose it also depends on a healthy pig good luck to you.

I am 64 years old so its important for me to eat as healthy as I can. Make sure your taking your calcium 600 mg in the am and 600 in the pm and D3 I buy calcium with D3 in it. My osteoporosis is in my hips and my back. Its also important to walk. has your doctor put you on osteoporosis drug? some people tolerate them ok. Also if your on any other meds research them and make sure they don't deplete your calcium. I am getting my second dexa scan in may, I can hardly wait to see if I've had any progress in reversing this osteoporosis. I also read that horsetail is really good for issue with osteoporosis I have it growing wild all over my property so I will be making myself a brew of tea daily.

My osteoporosis is also in spine and hips. My diet since having the thyriod issues and finding out I have Hlab27 gene has been really healthy..no gluten, sugar and lactose. Everything organic.mostly vegetarian and I take probiotics and digestive enzymes. I take magnesium and calcium d glucarate and dim plus to metabolize excess eostregon post menopause. I also take selenium.I was already taking but d but doctor has prescribed a mix of calcium and but d high strength and alendronic acid which I haven't taken yet as it difficult to work out times with t3 and t4 to take on top.I understand calcium can interfere with thyroid meds and alendronic acid has to be taken first thing in a morning..will research horsetail thanks for the tip

that is true calcium and thyroid should be taken they say 4hours apart. Sounds like you are doing good things I will post again when I get results in May
