I take 50mcg of Levothyroxine T4
and 5 mcg of Liothyronine T 3 cytomel in the morning empty stomach .
Has anyone tried taking T3 in the afternoon & noticed the difference? Is it better to take morning or afternoon or later ...

Suzie. T3 has half life of 5-6 hours. Some people take all of their dose in the morning and are fine, some people do split their T3 into two or three doses to tale during the day. Im on a ndt and take my whole dose first thing in the morning. I used to split it and do a top up at lunchtime but since my b12 jabs no longer need to. Never tried night before......but I know some people take their levo at bedtime & feel great. Not heard of anyone doing the same with T3.
The plasma half-life of T3 is around a day!
There are some who take T3 at bed-time - whether whole dose or just one part of a split dose.
Dr Lowe apparently used to take his huge dose then.
I am on 5 mcg of T3 Liothyronine, been taking both T3 T4 in the am. my dr suggested taking T 3 in the afternoon to boost energy. I am reluctant to do that as I already have insomnia problem at least two days a week.Thanks
You could well be right. But some people sleep better by doing so!
I do not take T3, but I do take my levothyroxine at bedtime and usually sleep very soundly - which I didn't prior to treatment.

They all say that. Just difficult to know whether it is out of ignorance or it is the easy option.
