Thyrogold NDT

Hello, I was just hoping for some advice on dosing with Thyrogold please? After a partial thyroidectomy seven yeas ago my TSH level has always been between 4 and 7 with an upper limit to the reference range of 5.5, and as such my GP and endo have point blank refused to even entertain starting me on levo. So in desperation I decided to try Thyrogold 150mg daily, and after a few weeks felt back to normal; I had circulation to my extremities again, and wasn't so exhausted. I actually managed to lose a bit of weight dieting for the first time in years too.

The trouble was after a few more weeks I started to get heart palpitations and feel very anxious among other hyper symptoms. I had a medichecks test at this point and my results were: TSH <0.01 (0.27-4.2), T4 9.6 (3.1-6.8), and T3 26.6 (12-22). So I panicked a little and came off NDT until these symptoms subdued, but then was back to square one with hypo symptoms.

Since then I have tried to split the dose by having one 150mg capsule every other day, but have felt pretty terrible ever since. I wanted to properly split the dose and take 75mg each day to see how that went, but don't know how to as I am guessing the capsule is required for proper absorption in the stomach?

Does anyone know how to split the Thyrogold capsules in order to take half each day? Any other suggestions of how to try and find an optimal dose would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Have you possibly mislabelled your FT3 and FT4 results?

It may be a good idea to contact Tammy Lowe, Dr Lowe's widow, who I understand, is always happy to answer queries about using Thyrogold.

Thank you, yes I have mixed up my FT3 and FT4 results, sorry about that, and I should contact Tammy.

I have just seen posts on here about people splitting capsule, and wondered how they did this as I am guessing the capsule is required for the NDT to be taken up properly?

This is a link of information that Dr Lowe did before his death due to an accident.

naturalthyroidsolutions.com...

Dr Lowe only took one initial blood test for his patients and from then on it was all about the relief of clinical symptoms and gradual increases every 2 weeks until symptoms resolved.

As MaisieGray states, you can always contact his widow, Tammy.
